What is Holistic Healing?
Holistic Healing
Holistic healing is an approach to health and well-being that considers the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—rather than focusing solely on physical symptoms or disease. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of all aspects of a person’s life, and seeks to address the root causes of health issues by promoting balance, harmony, and natural healing. The goal of holistic healing is to promote overall wellness, prevent illness, and help individuals achieve a sense of balance and self-awareness. It is often used alongside conventional medical treatment to enhance healing and support the body's natural ability to recover.
Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy is a form of therapeutic intervention that uses specific yoga practices to address physical, mental, and emotional health issues. It is a holistic approach that integrates the principles of traditional yoga with modern medical understanding to support healing and well-being.
In yoga therapy, a trained yoga therapist customizes practices, including postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), meditation, relaxation techniques, and lifestyle recommendations, to meet the individual needs of the person. The therapy is designed to promote balance, improve flexibility, strengthen the body, reduce stress, and alleviate symptoms related to various conditions. Yoga therapy is personalized, often working alongside conventional medical treatments, to help individuals achieve long-term health and well-being.
Reiki Therapy
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "Rei" (meaning "universal" or "spiritual") and "Ki" (meaning "life force energy"). Reiki is based on the belief that an unseen life force energy flows through all living things and is essential for maintaining health and well-being.
In Reiki practice, a trained practitioner channels this universal life force energy to the recipient through their hands. The process typically involves the practitioner placing their hands lightly on or near the body of the person receiving treatment. The aim is to balance the energy, promote relaxation, and stimulate the body’s natural healing processes.
Reiki is often used to:
1. Promote relaxation: It induces a deep state of relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety.
2. Alleviate pain: Some people find relief from physical pain or discomfort after a Reiki session.
3. Enhance emotional healing: It can help release negative emotions and promote a sense of inner peace.
4. Boost overall wellness: Reiki is believed to support the body’s natural healing abilities, improve energy levels, and enhance mental clarity.
Reiki is considered non-invasive and can be used alongside other forms of medical treatment, though it is not meant to replace conventional medical care. Many people find it beneficial as a complementary therapy for stress management, pain relief, and emotional balance.
Exercise Physiology
A clinical exercise physiologist is a healthcare professional who specializes in using exercise as a therapeutic tool to help individuals manage or prevent chronic conditions and improve overall health. They have advanced knowledge of how exercise affects the body, particularly in clinical settings, and work with patients to develop safe, personalized exercise programs tailored to their specific medical needs.
Clinical exercise physiologists often work with people who have conditions such as:
Cardiovascular diseases (e.g., heart disease, hypertension), Diabetes, Obesity, Chronic respiratory conditions (e.g., asthma, COPD), Musculoskeletal disorders, Neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, Parkinson's disease)
Their roles typically include:
1. Assessing physical fitness: They conduct fitness assessments, including tests for cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility, and body composition.
2. Creating exercise prescriptions: Based on assessments, they develop personalized exercise programs that are safe and effective for managing specific health conditions or improving general health.
3. Monitoring progress: They track patients' responses to exercise and make adjustments to programs as needed.
4. Providing education and support: Clinical exercise physiologists educate patients about the benefits of exercise, proper techniques, and how to safely incorporate exercise into their daily lives.
5. Collaborating with healthcare teams: They often work alongside physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Their goal is to improve patients’ physical function, reduce symptoms of chronic diseases, prevent complications, and enhance overall quality of life through evidence-based exercise interventions.
Life Coach
A life coach is a professional who helps individuals identify and achieve personal or professional goals, improve their overall well-being, and make positive changes in their lives. Life coaches provide guidance, motivation, and support through one-on-one sessions, often focusing on areas like career, relationships, health, self-esteem, and personal growth. They use various techniques, such as goal-setting, accountability, and problem-solving, to help clients overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. Life coaches do not provide therapy but instead focus on helping clients move forward and achieve their desired outcomes.
Soul Touch
Soul touch is a relaxation massage designed to help reduce stress and promote a sense of calm and well-being. It typically involves gentle, soothing strokes that target areas of tension in the body, like the back, shoulders, and legs. The goal is to relax the muscles, improve circulation, and alleviate mental and physical stress. This type of massage often uses lighter pressure and slower techniques compared to more intense therapeutic massages, and it’s generally focused on providing relaxation rather than treating specific injuries or pain.
The massage is typically done with the intention of promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, and is often accompanied by prayer, breathwork, and intention-setting to create a sense of balance and harmony. The techniques can vary between practitioners, but the overall goal is to release tension, improve circulation, and restore well-being.

What to expect:

To prevent an interruption in the continuous flow of energy your practitioner will use one towel or a small sheet to preserve your modesty.
The massage usually begins with a period of stillness where you will find the practitioner's hands resting lightly on your back. During this moment of stillness an intention is set for your healing.
The practitioner will work intuitively with your body. They will use fluid rhythmic strokes to release tensions. There is no set format for this type of massage so no two massages are the exact same. In some cases, the treatment may be slow and relaxing, and in others, fast and invigorating. You might find that the practitioner massages two different parts of your body simultaneously. This technique helps your brain avoid focusing on any one area and ultimately improves relaxation.

Red Light Therapy
Infrared therapy uses infrared light to penetrate the skin and provide therapeutic benefits. Infrared light is a type of electromagnetic radiation, which is not visible to the human eye but can be felt as heat. When applied to the body, it works by increasing blood circulation, reducing pain, and promoting healing by stimulating the tissues.
Here's how it works:
1. Penetration into tissues: Infrared light penetrates deeper layers of the skin, reaching muscles, joints, and even bones, unlike visible light, which primarily affects the surface.
2. Increased blood flow: The heat generated by infrared light expands blood vessels, enhancing circulation. This helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to tissues while removing waste products, promoting healing and relaxation.
3. Pain relief: Infrared therapy can stimulate the production of endorphins (natural painkillers), reducing pain and inflammation in conditions like arthritis, muscle strain, or chronic pain.
4. Cellular regeneration: The heat and light stimulate cells to repair and regenerate, speeding up the recovery process for injuries or inflammation.
Benefits include:
Pain relief: Eases joint pain, muscle stiffness, and inflammation.
Improved circulation: Helps with oxygen and nutrient delivery to cells, aiding recovery.
Muscle relaxation: Relieves tension and promotes relaxation of tight muscles.
Wound healing: Accelerates healing of wounds and tissue repair.
Reduction of inflammation: Reduces swelling and promotes tissue repair after injury.
Detoxification: By increasing sweating, infrared therapy can aid in the detoxification process by helping the body release toxins.
It's commonly used for conditions like arthritis, muscle injuries, chronic pain, and to promote overall wellness.

Is it safe?
Yes, red light therapy is generally considered safe for most people when used properly. It uses low-level wavelengths of light, typically in the range of 600 to 650 nanometers (for red light) and 800 to 880 nanometers (for near-infrared light). These wavelengths are believed to help promote healing, reduce inflammation, and improve skin conditions.
